20 Questions with Alicia Cay
As avid readers, we at Cursed Dragon Ship Publishing have grown bored with the questions in “respectable” interviews. What about the really important ones, like what is their least favorite chore or their favorite flavor of ice cream? This week we’ve booked Alicia Cay.

Alicia Cay is a writer of Speculative and Mystery stories. Her short fiction has appeared in Galaxy’s Edge magazine, in several anthologies including Unmasked: Tales of Risk and Revelation from WordFire Press, and The Wild Hunt by Air and Nothingness Press, and she even had a story made into a full-cast, audiobook production on The Storyteller Series podcast.
In 2020 she was awarded a scholarship to attend SuperStars Writing Seminars, and later that same year made Finalist in the Writers of the Future contest.
She’s slogged through slush piles for two SF/F publications, served on the Board of Sisters in Crime-Colorado, worked as a proofreader for WordFire Press, and in 2022 was invited to join Arc Manor Books publishing company as an Associate Editor.

She grew up on her Dad’s hand-me-down collection of classic Sci-Fi, Fantasy, and Horror, which now influences her writing. She has a B.F.A. in Interior Architecture, is the supervisor of a 9-1-1 dispatch center, edits, proofreads, and in the spare moments left over, pursues words in an attempt to wrangle them into some semblance of story—because it brings her to life.
Alicia suffers from wanderlust, dreams of castles and far-away places, crochets, collects quotes, and currently lives beneath the shadows of the Rocky Mountains with a corgi, a kitty, and a lot of fur.
